Laura Linney, best known for portraying strong, but weak characters, is among of the most acclaimed American actors of the present. While working as a summer intern in her father's company Laura Linney fell in love with the theatre. Then in her time at Brown University she studied acting as well as at Juilliard School, after which the career of her choice took off. Following the graduation, she began the beginning of her Broadway career. Two years later, she was on television. Her appearances have been in a variety of film, TV as well as stage productions ever since. She has been nominated for three Academy Awards, five Tony Awards, and four Primetime Emmy Awards (including two Golden Globe Awards), as well as received numerous awards over her time on the stage. In spite of the array of awards acting has been her passion first and foremost. She has continued to appear both on screen and on stage.
