Richard B. Cheney, a distinguished public servant and businessman, is the vice president. Cheney known as a popular figure on the scene of Washington politics, worked with four presidents from the United States. George W. Bush is the fourth. Bush chose Cheney on July 20, 2000 to be his vice-presidential running partner, commenting on Cheney's wisdom and judgment. Dick Cheney was a chief of Staff to Presidents, was a member of the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense, and served his country in many capacities. He's a man of integrity who is respected by Republicans and Democrats. Cheney believes that his job as a member of his position in the Bush Administration is to serve as a candid but discrete advisor. In accepting the Republican vice presidential nomination Cheney said that he is looking forward to working with an administration that will strive for the accomplishment of goals through working across the political aisle as well as working with opposition politicians to achieve a mutual goals. Richard Bruce Cheney (born January 30 1941) was the son Richard Herbert Cheney. His mother, Marjorie Lauraine Dickey had been engaged to Richard Herbert Cheney for over thirty years. The family was moved into Casper, Wyoming with his family at the age of 13. The father of his worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture and directed the soil conservation district located in Casper.
